We’re Member Owned Welcome to Hartford Postal ECU where you're more than just a customer. You're a member. We are a full-service financial institution with a variety of time-saving services. But we offer our members something more: a commitment to service.
We’re Competitive As a credit union, we are, by definition, a not-for-profit, member-owned, financial cooperative. And so, as a member of HPECU, you'll enjoy loan rates that are typically lower than banks and other financial institutions. Higher savings rates, too. You're also entitled to have a say in setting credit union policies.
We’re Easy to Join It's easy to join. Just take a few minutes to download the membership application. A $5.00 deposit and a copy of your driver’s license or government issued photo ID are required to open an account. That's all there is to it. Membership is open to:
Those employed by or retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Connecticut
The spouse or relatives of the above individuals (or the spouse or relative of those) who are already members of our credit union.
Submit a completed membership application with a copy of your driver’s license or government issued photo ID and a $5.00 deposit to establish your account.

We’re Federally Insured Your accounts are insured for up to $100,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government. Individual Retirement Accounts are insured for an additional $250,000.
We Keep You “Posted” Members enjoy a quarterly newsletter and promotional mailings as well as discounts on insurance, legal services, entertainment books, Big E tickets and movie tickets.
HPE Credit Union takes great pains to keep member information safe. We never call, email or text message our members requesting account information.
